Smoking Hot Chillies

My wife bought some chillies for making chutney. The red color was very attractive. At first I could not figure out how to take its photo, so that I can show the real taste of a chilly. I tried placing it on a plain white paper, but was not happy with the results. Then I got this wine glass and took a shot, not happy. Then I started playing around with the white balance, tried different, found this one in WB -> Fluorescent -> Mercury-vapor lamps.

Satisfied with this shot, I thought now I can experiment more. I added smoke, using a incense stick.

I took many shots. Smoke really got me interested in this.

The effects came out were too good.

This is how I captured the smoke in the glass.

The setup
And this was my setup. All photos were shot using the 50mm lense.

And for all those who might be wondering what happened to the chillies, the chutney was hotter than these photos ;)
